Sentencing 2020

TJ scholars, researchers, judges, lawyers, and all practitioners with an interest in sentencing and post-release issues. The Sentencing 2020 Conference, a joint initiative of the Queensland Sentencing Advisory Council and the Faculty of Law at Qld University of Technology will be held at the QUT campus in Brisbane Australia on 9th and 10th July 2020. There will be a dedicated stream for TJ attendees, focusing on themes of compassion, empathy, trauma focused practice and the possibility of redemption (although the whole of conference themes will be wider). We are currently considering international keynote speakers – the names of these speakers and a call for abstracts and panels will be sent out soon. This will coincide with the second annual meeting of the Oceania Chapter of the International Society for Therapeutic Jurisprudence, We are expecting about 250 national and international attendees at the conference.
